Apparently my son is really into his poetry unit. He started talking about personification, hyperbole and then shared his latest haiku last night during dinner. He doesn’t usually talk much about ELA so kudos to his teacher. Something is sticking.
So in that vein, I decided to write and share my own 2 part haiku for today’s slice.
A new season starts.
Today I wore a name tag.

Read to us, Miss Annalee.
Criss- cross applesauce.
It’s great your son is enjoying poetry. We know there are so many advantages to writing and reading poetry and even more when he is learning about and remembering the figurative language used.

I love how your son is excited about the poetry unit. It’s always so neat to hear my kids suddenly talk more about a certain class.
Love the haiku – and how it is a portrait of you!

Thanks for reading. So glad poetry is something my kiddo likes because I’m not great at it. He can teach me.
